Cheonjeyeon Falls is a three tier waterfall located on Jeju island. It is located next to the Botanic Garden in the Seogwipo Tourist area.
Cheonjeyeon Falls (천제연폭포), named ‘The pond of God’, consists of 3 parts. Around the falls, a variety of plant life thrives, such as the rare ‘solipnan’ reeds. To the east, there is a cave where cold water pours from the ceiling to create a waterfall. The water from the first waterfall becomes the second and third waterfalls and flows into the sea.
We didn’t get around to seeing the 3rd tier of the waterfall as we were quite exhausted looking at the different attractions in the area.
To get close up to the waterfall we had to cross the Seonimgyo Bridge ( an arch bridge that had 7 nymphs carved on each side)
Doesn’t the bridge look really lovely?
Have you visited any waterfalls lately?

It is always interesting observing swimming fishes in the water. They dart around with precision sending ripples through the wateras they move.
It’s really difficult to capture the fish in action. These animals move so quickly that many of my shots ended up blur due to the reflection of the water. Only when they paused for a second was I able to capture a clear shot of the fishes.
It was really interesting seeing how translucent the skin was for these fishes. Most of the time I normally see the orange or golden color koi swimming in the pond. With this colored fish you could see the thin membranes surrounding its features. From the shot above you can see the whole eye of the fish under it’s skin. Amazing isn’t it how GOD created this creature.
