Tokyo DisneySea- (Part 1)

The Globe
The Globe

Tokyo DisneySea is the other Disney park that we visited when we were in Tokyo, Japan. This theme park was much larger then Disneyland. In fact I felt that the rides in this park were way better and more varied. All of us managed to go on many different rides and we didn’t have to queue as long for the rides as compared to when we were at Tokyo Disneyland.

There were lots of visitors to the park but it didn’t feel as crowded as there was lots of open spaces and different rides to go on.

I love the architecture of the place. There was a lovely seaside castle with sailboats next to the volcano. It really felt like you were transported back in town after walking through the gates of Disneysea.

On the other side of the bridge that we walked on was a traditional looking steam ship. It reminded me of the Titanic and that love story which I saw in the movies more then 10 years ago.

Isn’t the scenery at the place simply lovely?

Chip N Dale's House

Toonland was one of the places that we visited at Tokyo Disneyland.  This area is more suitable for younger kids and I saw many families with toddlers and babies viewing the rides and exhibits here.

Donald's Boat

The kids and I had a peek into the homes of our favourite Disney characters. It was fun going through the different rooms and seeing how Chip N Dale and Donald lived.

Roger Rabbit Toon Car Spin

The kids enjoyed the indoor spinning car ride at Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin. It was an exciting ride going through the roads of toontown with Roger Rabbit.

We managed to catch the parade and saw many of the storybook characters on the floats during the procession. We even saw Mickey, Minnie and Santa Claus waving to the crowd.

Adventure Land

From Toontown we went to Adventure land where we saw many people going on the jungle cruise.

Mark Twain's Riverboat

Crossing over to Westernland we rode on Mark Twain’s Riverboat and had a slow cruise down the river. It was a fun but exhausting day at Disneyland for us.

A Visit to Tokyo Disneyland- Part One

The entrance after we cleared the gates

Disneyland, a magical place where dreams come true. During the recent December holidays  we brought the kids to Tokyo Disneyland as it was the 2nd nearest Disneyland from where we are staying. We brought them to Hong Kong Disneyland a few years back and they really enjoyed themselves there even though it was quite small as compared to the various theme parks that we have visited.

We arrived at the park bright and early as we wanted to maximize the time that we had allocated for the park. It seemed that everyone else had the same idea as there were many long queue’s at the entrance when we arrived.

We  pre-purchased a 2 day pass for the Disney parks so it didn’t take too long to clear the entrance. After about 15 minutes in the queue we cleared the gates and entered the park ready to go on the 1st ride.

Cinderella's Castle
Cinderella’s Castle

The majestic looking Cinderella’s castle caught my attention. It was located at the center of the park and overlooked the gardens around it. We didn’t have a chance to enter the castle as there was a really long queue. Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall wasn’t high on our priority list of rides/shows that are a must see as the boys are not into princesses and we headed for the thrill rides instead.

We headed over to Tomorrowland and secured the fast pass for  the Space Mountain(Indoor roller coaster ride). After securing the fast passes the boys and I had a round at the Grand Circuit Raceway.

The boys couldn’t wait to get behind the wheel and experience it for themselves how a car accelerates and slows down by working the pedals.  It was really fun and they wanted to go for a second round but I had to say no or else they wouldn’t have enough time for the other rides at the theme park.

After  the two rides at Tomorrowland we went over to Toontown for a different Disney experience. ( To be continued in Part two of this post ).
