It is really interesting to see stone statues by the roadside. We saw many while touring Jeju island, South Korea in June. The above statue was found in many places on the island. It is the God of Protection and Fertility and many newly wed couples can be seen stroking the nose for a boy and the ear for a girl.
I saw this statue among others in a garden along the roadside. This person looks so happy hugging his owl.
This was another unusual statue in the garden. It looks like there is a crab on the top of the rock the statue is leaning against.
Sunbathing statue. This statue was made in June 2010. I can’t read Korean so not sure what is written on the name plate next to it.
It is always interesting observing swimming fishes in the water. They dart around with precision sending ripples through the wateras they move.
It’s really difficult to capture the fish in action. These animals move so quickly that many of my shots ended up blur due to the reflection of the water. Only when they paused for a second was I able to capture a clear shot of the fishes.
It was really interesting seeing how translucent the skin was for these fishes. Most of the time I normally see the orange or golden color koi swimming in the pond. With this colored fish you could see the thin membranes surrounding its features. From the shot above you can see the whole eye of the fish under it’s skin. Amazing isn’t it how GOD created this creature.
