Looking through the Grills

Through the grills
Through the grills

I love cast iron grills for it’s sturdy solid look.  It gives one the sense of protection from the unknown . A sense of security and peace.  There are many intrigue patterns which make up the grill. The twisting and turning of the cast iron to form curves and repeated patterns gives the place a sense of grandeur.

The grills are not only there for aesthetics purposes but to provide safety for the occupant of the building.  Grills help to prevent accidents from happening (like people falling over the ledge)  and also to give character to the building structure.

Grill  help define/frame the object in. It gives us a different perspective of things while looking through them.

What do you see when you look through the grills?

  1. I love this idea! I really need to get out and practice more with my new camera and I’m thinking this would be a great way to start. Happy WW, thanks so much for hosting.

  2. Iron grills sure are interesting and so many patterns of curls and stylized nature could be made out of them.
